New Caney saw its season come to an end Thursday night with a 56-21 loss to state-ranked No. 2 Highland Park in the Region III-5A bi-district round. The road loss ends New Caney’s sixth-straight trip to the postseason, and its first under new head coach Travis Reeve. The Scots, meanwhile, move on to the second round for the eighth-straight season and will play Frisco Independence in the area round next week.
