Just before 3am Wednesday Caney Creek Fire responded to a residential fire in the 16700 block of Springfield off Old Houston just behind the new Granger Pines Subdivision. They arrived with heavy fire showing inside. They were able to quickly get it under control with damage to one area of the home. The home was under construction with no utilities connected as of yet. Caney Creek Fire was assisted by Porter, EMC, and Needham Fire Departments. The Montgomery County Fire Marshals Office is investigating.
