Fernland Historical Park in downtown Montgomery showcases historic buildings carefully relocated and restored by Carroll and Mae Tharp over more than 20 years. The Tharps, dedicated preservationists, donated the buildings to Sam Houston State University in 1991 to ensure their continued care.
