Conroe area may see and smell smoke from prescribed burn in W.G. Jones State Forest, officials say

Residents near the W.G. Jones State Forest may notice smoke coming from the park as the Texas A&M Forest Service carries out prescribed burning operations on Thursday. Approximately 76 acres will be burned within the protected urban forest on FM 1488 between Conroe and The Woodlands, according to a news release from the forest service.
